2. You need to make sure it boils

It does not matter the level it got ready, the step here is the same. You need to place your eggs in a large pot. You should also fill the entire pot using water. Make sure the entire pot boils using a medium amount of heat. You should then turn off the heat level using a cover with the lid.

3. You need to set your timer

This is an extremely important step. If you want your eggs to be softly boiled, you should set your timer for only seven minutes. If you want them to be hard-boiled then you should set things for about eleven minutes. When we say that each second counts, you would not believe it. Lots of tests have been done to check how well the eggs boil over time. You need to get a huge water bowl ready. You should get it as the timer counts down.

4. Shock the boiled eggs

After your timer rings, you should transfer your eggs into that frozen water. This would shock the eggs and hold the cooking process. They just need to hang out in there for just a minute or only two.

5. Peel away

Since you made use of eggs which are older, you should peel your eggs gently and it wouldn’t be so difficult this time.

I used the procedures I learned online and I got wonderful results because the eggs I hard-boiled came out looking great and nice. My Uncle enjoyed them and he complimented me considering it was the first time I was making boiled eggs.

How to Cook Bacon in the Oven

The oven serves as one of the easiest and perfect ways to cook a piece of crispy bacon over the stovetop method. It is stress and mess-free, unlike the stovetop method that leaves hotspots on the pan.

To rid you of the hassle of dodging splattering grease during baking let’s take a look at how to cook Bacon using the oven.

Baking a piece of bacon with an oven has 2 methods which you can follow. You can choose to cook the bacon directly on the baking sheet lined on the pan or you can choose to bake it on a cooling rack kept on the pan.

  1. Place a rack in the oven, preferably in the middle. Heat the oven up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Place a baking sheet with aluminum foil, making sure it is overlapping on all sides. If you choose to use a cooling rack, do not use ones that have a non-sticking coating, instead apply a non-stick cooking spray to avoid sticking.
  2. Carefully arrange the bacon. Make sure that it is in a single layer with none overlapping on each other to avoid sticking during baking.
  3. Close the oven and allow it to bake. This will take about 14-18 minutes to bake (start checking after 15 minutes), depending on how thick the bacon is. Bake the cake until the Bacon takes a golden brown color and crispy. The oven is one of the best ways due to the fact that the bacon cooks evenly, unlike the popular stovetop that heats some slices faster than the others, leaving some undercooked.
  4. Place paper towels on a plate, using tongs, place the hot bacon on the paper towels, allow the grease to drain from the bacon.
  5. Serve immediately.
  6. It can be served with eggs (fried or boiled) or pancakes

NB: the drained grease can be stored and used to cook eggs or popcorn later on.

Advantages of preparing Bacon with an oven

  1. Cooking with an oven is a clean practice. Cooking bacon using an oven prevents splattering of grease and also prevents hot spots marks in the pan. With the oven, you have less to clean.
  2. If you are planning on baking lots of Bacons, then using an oven is the best option. The oven has more than enough room to fit a good amount of Bacon without stacking them on each other and leading to sticking.
  3. Well, of course, Bacon won’t be the only thing you will be preparing. Using the oven gives you free time to comfortably go about your business in the kitchen until the bacon is ready.
  4. Due to the fact that the oven does now allow the pan to form hot spots, the bacon tends to cook evenly with an charcoaled or white parts left after baking.
  5. Baked Bacon does not form a curl after baking, unlike the stovetop method.

Materials needed to bake a Bacon;

Sugar-free Holiday Cheesecake Recipe

The holidays are upon us again, and we have to prepare promptly to receive them. The joy that Christmas brings, the thrills of getting to meet with long-time friends and distant relatives, everything is worth looking forward to. But then, what do you have to offer them when they finally arrive? Let me give you an idea; you can create this super-delicious cheesecake without worrying about excessive sugar content.

This article will show you how to make your own sugar-free holiday cheesecake recipe. You’ll see how easy it is to get everyone smiling at the dining table. The good thing about this cheesecake is that it can still pass for a good dessert if you prepare it well. You don’t have to worry about a family member who has diabetes; it is sugar-free and is still as delicious as you can imagine.

What You’ll Need

For the Cake Filling

  • 750 gram of cream cheese, at room temperature
  • One egg
  • One tablespoon of vanilla powder
  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • Two tablespoon yogurt or sour cream
  • 1/2 cup of rice malt syrup
  • Extra raspberries and mint leaves to decorate
  • 1/4 cup of coconut cream

For the Cake Crust

  • One cup of almond meal or other nut meal
  • One cup of shelled pistachios
  • 120 gram of softened unsalted butter
  • One cup of shredded coconut

It is not an entirely new procedure if you have been baking other types of cheesecakes. The only difference this time is that you won’t be adding sugar to the batter.

Step one

Start by preheating the oven and lining the bottom and sides of the pan with baking paper. This will prevent the cake from sticking to the pan.

Step two

To make the base, you’ll whiz the nuts in a food processor. Continue to do that until you’re sure it is very smooth. Pour your shredded coconut into the bowl, add the almond meal and butter. Stir the mixture with your hand till it forms a dough. If you don’t feel like the butter is enough, as some more. Remember that the oil in the nut can only be released when you stir correctly with your hand. Press the dough into the pan and bake for around 5 to 8 minutes until you notice that it is becoming golden in color. Remove it from the pan and allow it to cool.

Step three

Make a puree out of raspberries by slowly blending it. Ensure that you add some water to make it pass through easily. Pour the product into a saucepan and stir carefully until it becomes slightly thick. Allow it to cool down while you move on to the next step.

Step four

Empty all the remaining ingredients into a big bowl and stir thoroughly. Drop little bits of the mixture into the cold pan, and drop some of the raspberry sauce on the surface of the cheesecake. Pour the remaining mixture into the surface of the cheesecake and smoothen it out. Place it in the oven for about 25 minutes. Make sure you don’t overcook it. Place the product in the fridge for some hours and serve it cold.

How to Wrap a Present (Step by Step)

Wrapping a present is one skill that everyone needs to know, especially now that the Christmas holidays are upon us. It may not mean so much if you decide to open up your present when you deliver it. However, it will make it more presentable and surprising when it is properly wrapped.

In this article, we will look at how you can wrap a present properly to make it look presentable, not minding the content of the gift. Follow me through this article, and you just might be the one who teaches your friends and family who also want to learn to wrap presents.

Step 1: Measure the paper

It is always best to measure out the amount of wrapping paper you will need for the present. Remember that you must already have your gift before you begin to cut. Place the present on the wrapping paper and mark the length and breadth of the present on the paper.

Step 2: Cut out the paper

When you have carefully measured the actual size of the present on the paper, you can now move forward to cutting the measurements out of the wrapping paper. Try as much as possible to stick with your markings. You can go above it but try not to go below it; else, you might need to throw the paper away.

Step 3: Fold two ends of the paper

It will be your decision which two ends you want to fold first, but whichever one you choose, ensure that you wrap them up properly and tape them together. This is going to be the basis of your work.

Step 4: Fold down the other two sides

When you have folded the first two ends and taped them together, you will notice that the other two ends are sticking out. Fold them down and tape them to the body of the present.

Step 5: Form a triangle

You can do this by folding in one the wrapping paper from one edge of the present. You will notice that it naturally forms a triangle when you do this.

Step 6: Raise the triangle tail and tape

The job gets easier from here on. Just raise the tail of the triangle to cover the two folded sides and tape everything together firmly. Repeat the same step for the other side of the present, and you’re good to go. Some people may decide to tape the entire box again, but I think that would deface the gift and steal its beauty.

Step 7: Do the decorations

The decoration shouldn’t take much of your time. It merely entails that you tie a beautiful ribbon around the present. If you are wrapping a Christmas present, you should consider using a red ribbon because it represents the color of Christmas.

If you followed all these steps judiciously, you should now have a firmly and beautifully wrapped present that will thrill the benefactor with its looks even before its content is revealed.

How to Make Paper Snowflake Christmas Tree Decorations

Paper decorations are beginning to gain ground in the media lately. People are starting to ditch the overly expensive decorations and going for cheaper and easy-to-make ones. One good thing about paper decorations is that they won’t affect your pocket at all, and they’re just as beautiful as any other form of decoration you can think about.

In this article, I will show you how to make beautiful paper snowflake Christmas tree decorations. You can choose to place them on your Christmas tree, on your walls both in the office and at home, or on your home table.

How to Make Paper Snowflakes

Follow the steps below to make your own paper snowflakes.

Step one

Make a triangle from a square paper by folding it diagonally. Ensure that the paper is square before you begin to fold. To make it a perfect square, you can measure the sides with a ruler or fold the paper from one of the tips and make sure that it is parallel to the adjacent edge of the paper. Cut out the excess paper, and what you’ll have is a perfect square.

Step two

While still maintaining the first folding, fold the two pointed edges again till they meet. Make sure that the edges are perfectly parallel to each other.

Step three

For the third time, you will have to fold the triangle again, but this time, it will not form another triangle; it will form the shape of a rocket. Your paper should be getting thicker by now, which is why you must ensure that you start the process with light paper. Thicker paper becomes difficult or impossible to fold as you go further.

Step four

After the previous folding, you’ll notice that you now have excesses on both sides of the rocket shape paper. Cut those excesses off the piece, so you have a regular triangle again. Be careful while doing this, because a wrong cut into the other parts of the paper could ruin the entire process, and you’ll have to start over again with another paper.

Step five

This step is where all the work is because here’s where you begin to design your paper snowflake Christmas decoration. Pick a pair of sharp scissors and cut through the folded paper from the edges to the center. Cut different shapes; some straight, some zigzag, and some wavy or curved. You’ll see the magic when you spread out the paper.

Step six

Unfold your paper now, and what you’ll have is a beautifully designed snowflake. When you spread out the paper, you must ensure that you’re extremely careful to avoid tearing up the design. If you used a very light paper, the risk of getting it torn is higher. Be as cautious as possible, and the result will thrill you.

You can either hang the finished product on your Christmas tree with a fine ribbon or on your windows to make them dangle freely and beautifully.
